House Beautiful's Kitchen of the Year 2011

It's that time again....
House Beautiful's Kitchen of the Year is now up in the middle of Manhattan's Rockefeller Center.
This year the kitchen was designed by chef Tyler Florence and designer Lori Yeomans.
The countertops are {my favorite} CaesarStone quartz.  The color is one of their new colors, #4100 Belgian Moon.  I really like this new color, you can see more pictures of it on CaesarStone's website.  I think it's going to be a good seller.

What I love about this kitchen...
  • The black countertops on the black cabinets.  It could look like a cave in some homes, but it's awesome here with all the windows.
  • The thick Mitered edge detail on the island.
  • The black farmhouse sink.....I really love this!
  • The beautiful Ann Sacks tile backsplash.
Honestly I'm not loving this kitchen nearly as much as I liked the Kitchen of the Year 2010 that was designed by Jeff Lewis
I don't think it's the color because I really do like the black, I think this kitchen is just way too cluttery for my taste.  I bet if they removed the gazillion items on the countertops I'd like the kitchen a heck of a lot more.
What do you think?  Do you like this year's Kitchen of the Year?

I'm with you....it IS beautiful, but I'm just not loving it. Although that center island is sweet. Why do you think they have the two faucets at the sink?

Hi Melissa-
I'm glad you agree with me! ;)
I'm assuming they did two faucets because they are two different types. One is a sprayer and the other is just a faucet. I have a similar set up in my own laundry room, they are just two different functions.
