Absolute Black & Australian Reef Granite Kitchen from MGS by Design

This is 'Part 4' of the Parade Home we did this summer.

Today is the gorgeous kitchen!

The granite on the perimeter countertops is polished Absolute Black.  For the island countertop the homeowners & Interior Designer found a stunning slab of Australian Reef granite from one of our local suppliers, Adamas Stone.
This slab was the very last slab that Adamas Stone had (without any more on the way either!) so we purchased the slab months in advance just so that we wouldn't lose it.
This became a problem because it was such a gorgeous slab sitting in our yard that we had so many customers begging us to sell it to them!  It's one of the "fun" parts of natural stone, every slab is unique!  So for better or worse, no one else will be able to find a slab just like this one.  :)

I really liked how the designer, Clayton Thompson, designed the Island as two levels with the lower level being table height.  It's not a huge difference in height, but just enough to establish the working space from the dining space.
As you can see, we matched up the veining in the slab so the pattern continues seamlessly from the lower to upper portion of the island.

The edge detail on the Island is a 2" Miter.

The perimeter countertops have the 1 1/4" Half Moon edge detail.

Beautiful Farmhouse Sinks in both full size and prep size in the island.

Notice how the granite goes all the way back to the wall into the appliance garage.

I still have plenty more of the home to show you, so please come back soon.

If you missed the first three posts of this beautiful home be sure to check them out!
