SILESTONE DESIGN COMPETITION RETURNS IN SEARCH OF BRILLIANT KITCHEN DESIGN
Silestone Trendspotters to select the most colorful and creative kitchen projects featuring Silestone

New York, NY (August, 2013) — Silestone (www.silestoneusa.com), a world leader in natural quartz surfacing, introduces the second annual Silestone Design Contest, an exciting program recognizing independent designers on the forefront of creative and inspiring kitchen design. From bold back splashes to innovative islands, Silestone is seeking designers who celebrate the influence of color and push the envelope of design possibilities in the foremost room of the home.

A panel of high-profile design experts will judge and select three winning projects that feature Silestone natural quartz in a kitchen that not only reflects dynamic design, but also showcases a true passion for color. The grand-prize winner will receive an all-expense-paid, six-day trip to Spain and $1,500.

“Building on last year’s success, we’re looking forward to the start of the second annual Silestone Design Contest,” said Lorenzo Marquez, VP of Marketing for Cosentino North America, the parent company of Silestone. “The kitchen is the essence of a home, and innovative color and design truly enhances the multi-functional space. As a company, we’re honored to recognize designers who rely on Silestone to creatively bring their visions to life.”

The Silestone Design Competition judging panel is comprised of the Silestone Trendspotters, leading designers who are renowned for inventive and colorful design, including:

·         Julia Buckingham Edelmann, runs the full-service interior design firm Buckingham Interiors + Design, specializing in historic restorations and homebuilding. As a former antiques dealer, Edelmann designs interior environments, integrating antiques and modern furnishings developing her trademark Modernique™ style.

·         Abbe Fenimore, named one of Dallas’ Best Interior Designers in 2012 and 2013, is the ultra-hip designer behind Studio Ten 25. Fenimore is also the creator of Shop Ten 25, a well-curated online store featuring pieces the designer uses in her work or own home.

·         Kerrie Kelly is the founder of Kerrie Kelly Design Lab in Sacramento, California. An award-winning interior designer and multi-media consultant, Kelly is known for her colorful, livable design and is the author of two design books: Home Décor: A Sunset Design Guide and My Interior Design Kit.

The Silestone Design Contest begins August 6 and is open to all independent designers who completed kitchen projects using Silestone natural quartz from August 2012 to September 2013. The call for entries ends November 15, 2013 and the winners will be announced on December 3, 2013. For complete contest details or to enter a project, visit www.silestoneusa.com/contest.
